Article group info and actions
An item group is a classification for items, especially to keep track of price conditions and financial information. Article groups are not used to classify within a frontend (webshop or website). For that you better use the module categories.
An article is always assigned to only one article group. Within the article group, trade matters have been defined regarding finance, including general ledger accounts. Via journal entries it is possible to make exports at article group level for a financial package or other ERP / CRM system.

The overview of the article groups will be opened now.
Add article group
If you want to add an article group, press new.
If you want to expand the range with articles, it is for example important to create an article group. Make sure you fill in the article group as extensively as possible. If you use financial exports, you will also have to fill the ledger accounts. These fields are not mandatory by the way.
When you have filled in all essential fields, click on save to save the article group. After saving, the article group detail screen remains open.
After saving the article group is created. Do not forget to complete the tabs at the bottom of the article group details.
Change article group
If you want to edit an existing article group, double-click the relevant article group in the overview. The article group details screen will then be opened and you can make your changes there.
The data of an article group can change. Enter your changes on the article group detail screen. After you have completed the adjustments, click save to save the data. The data of the article group is then immediately active.
After the changes have been made, it is advisable to go through the tabs as well.
Delete article group
If an article group is no longer used at all and all articles that were assigned to this article group have been moved to another article group or have been deleted, you can delete the article group. Be careful with it, because there is a lot of information associated with the article group.
To really delete an article group, select the relevant article group in the overview. Then click delete to permanently remove the article from the system. This process is irreversible.
