In addition to the fields of the dimension, more information is linked in the form of tabs. You can cycle through the different tabs under the dimension details screen. The tabs below belong to a dimension.
These fields are the entry fields that are used on this dimension, to make it as complete as possible. The definitions of the fields are defined in this module. During the creation of the dimension objects, these fields are used to record additional information about such an object. For example a first and last name, or a personnel number.
"The fields of the fields..."
- Field nr.: The field number is an indication of the field. It also determines the order of playback.
- Description: The description is a clear description that can be used during the process.
- Required: Whether the field is a required field to fill in.
You can add a field, by clicking new. Fill in all relevant fields and click save to capture the field. If you want to define an extra field immediately, click on save and new.
You can always change a field. Keep in mind, if the field has already been used within the rental process, that the field must always contain the same values. Changing the field only makes sense, for example to correct spelling mistakes or something similar. You cannot turn a first name into a last name at once, unless this dimension has not yet been used by customers or in the rental process.
After your adjustment, click on save to save changes to the field.
When a field is deleted, the data maintained in this field is also deleted for a customer. Pay close attention to this. So historical data can be lost. However, if a field is no longer used, the field can be deleted. From the field overview, select the check box and then click delete.
From the tab objects it is possible to create dimension objects directly. You can also do this for customers from the customer card itself. Objects are thus the real objects of a certain dimension as known to a customer. When filling the objects you will see that in addition to the standard fields that are important for an object, the extra fields are also shown. These are the fields you have defined in the module fields.
It is not mandatory to specify a customer when creating an object. If a customer is not selected, the object is used as a system object, which you can use for all customers. The object is therefore not specifically intended for one customer.
Objects can be built in a so-called tree structure. It is then possible to let go of a certain hierarchy on larger environments, where possible multiple dimensional objects are used. This makes it easier to make a selection of a dimension object during the ordering process. Without this tree structure, the overview would soon be lost.
Click on new to create a new object. Fill in all relevant fields and click save to keep the object. Click on to immediately create a new object save and new.
To create a sub object, first open the main object that the new object should belong to. When you have opened this object, press new sub object. You can simply enter the object as if it were a main object. After you have saved the object, you will see that the object is placed below the main object. This structure is infinite and you can go into it as far as necessary. Keep in mind that the overview is always maintained.
An object, or sub-object, does not always have to be used during the ordering process. At that point it is important to indicate that it is not an object. You do this through the field is object leave blank. For example, a section with people below it would mean that the section itself is not an object, but the people below it. You have to define it in this way.
Double-click on the relevant object in the overview to change the object. If you change the object, you can also change all relevant fields. In principle, it is also possible to link an object that is not linked to a customer, at a later stage to a specific customer. Of course, keep in mind that this can affect the rental process. Customer information, especially dimension data, may start to look different.
After changing the object, click on save to save the data.
If an object is no longer in use, you can delete it. Historical data in orders will be kept as usual. However, the object will no longer be displayed during the ordering process.
To delete an object, select the check box in the object overview. Then click delete.
